Soft-billed and other Non-parrot Type Birds
Hill Country Aviaries, L.L.C. keeps several species of non-parrot type birds including toucans, crows, mynahs, pheasants, guineas, hornbills, and starlings. The captive breeding of all birds is becoming more and more important as forests are cut to make way for human inhabitants. It is interesting to note that most animal, bird, and plant species, that are now considered endangered or threatened, are so because of habitat destruction and the development of the land.
Here are a few examples of the species we now keep.
